PUSSYCAT Dolls' Ashley Roberts might be best known for her singing and dancing routines but she wants to become known for playing the funny girl in films.

"I've always wanted to play the lead in a romantic comedy and I'm taking acting lessons now," she said yesterday. "I really admire Isla Fisher."

The bubbly blonde American touched down in Sydney early yesterday morning and she was ready to hit the city, going to Sydney Children's Hospital at Randwick and shopping a little before her first Melbourne Cup in Australia. Roberts will take in the Kings Cross nightclub, The Piano Room, this afternoon where she is the VIP guest at one of the city's Melbourne Cup after-parties - expected to be the places where the beautiful people party on.

While Roberts will kick off the Piano Room event at 4pm, The Ivy will also be the venue for one of Sydney's biggest after-parties at its Pool deck bar and so will The Winery at Surry Hills.

You know how much I love Ashley. She is my favourite female dancer. But maybe you don´t know who is my fav. male dancer! Yes it´s Travis Wall. You know him from So You Think You Can Dance seaso two. 1 or 2 years ago my friend Lili made a video for me about Ashley and Travis. I wanna show you, but maybe you saw it before. :) But the best thing is: Ashley is now following Travis on Twitter. Maybe they know each other???? Oh I hope so! My two favourite dancers ever:

THE Pussycat Dolls' Ashley Roberts won't be travelling solo when she hits town for Melbourne Cup celebrations - the singer and dancer will have Hollywood hottie Gus Carr in tow.

Roberts is understood to be good friends with the darkly handsome Bring It On: All Or Nothing actor and he's expected to be by her side when she hosts the OK! party at The Piano Room on Tuesday.

She'll also catch up with fellow Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton when she lobs in Sydney this week for the opening of yet another Kings Cross nightspot, The Bank.
