Interview with Jeff Kenett about Josh Gibson

HAWTHORN president Jeff Kennett did not receive a please explain from the AFL yesterday, but his club sought a "please explain" from recruit Josh Gibson over a boozy night that finished at 6.30am on Monday. Gibson fronted the Hawks leadership group and has escaped suspension, but was hit with a fine. He did not escape the wrath of the president, either. "He won't be getting a Christmas card from me at the moment, I tell you," Kennett said. Gibson spent Sunday night partying with former Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts and friends after the Grand Prix and reportedly alerted the Hawks to his late night early on Monday. "I've heard about Josh and I had discussions with the club," Kennett said. "We have a code of conduct which has been developed by the players, the coaches, in conjunction with the board, and it is a very good code. "That matter has been dealt with internally by the club today and that's where it ends. "I'm strong on governance ... and I'm satisfied with the way it's been dealt and the action been taken." As for his attack on the AFL on SEN on Saturday, Kennett dismissed suggestions he should be punished for comments made about the AFL's manager of integrity services Brett Clothier and Respect and Responsibility Program leader Sue Clarke. Kennett labelled the pair "hoons" and said the AFL should have kept out of the Brendan Fevola-Lara Bingle situation. "I didn't get a please explain and I don't expect to," he said. "I didn't mean to offend the people involved, I don't even know who they were, I just remember Adrian Anderson saying publicly he would send two officers up there to get to Lara Bingle. "The AFL has got every right to question any players they see fit and my point was saying, to come in straight after without knowing the facts, to throw doubt on Brendan without listening to what he'd said, to then believe they have the right to interview or question a private person (Bingle), is well outside their authority in every way possible.". If they're upset or feel maligned, then I apologise to them, I'm quite happy to do that. "But it doesn't in any way weaken my criticism of the AFL for intervening so publicly in something that at least 50 per cent of the partnership was no responsibility to them at all."

The Doll and the AFL Star

We wondered why Ashley Roberts cancelled a Confidential photo shoot yesterday, not once but twice, then we found out what she got up to at the Melbourne F1 Grand Prix afterparty.
The former Pussycat Doll hooked up with AFL player Josh Gibson when she was here for last year's Melbourne Cup and was on the prowl for him again at the track. The purring singer found her man at Left Bank nightclub and they were happily, and very publicly, all over each other.
They moved on to the Boutique club - where the PDA started all over again. Our southern operative reports: "They didn't leave each other's side and were being very affectionate and wanted a private room but they didn't get one because the owner didn't know who they were."
The couple left about 4am, with Roberts tweeting at 10.40am: "I'm feeling the love from down unda.. Wow that sounds crazy! Ha. But in all seriousness. I love u oz. Next stop: Sydney." That'd be for a rest, though, and not for our shoot.

Hawthorn recruit Josh Gibson faces a club sanction for a boozy night on the town that finished after 5am. Gibson and former Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts ended a long day of Grand Prix celebrations at Prahran's Boutique nightclub just before sunrise Monday. He attended Sunday's Albert Park GP alone before joining Roberts at the swanky Left Bank Grand Prix party in Southbank. He and Roberts then moved on to a VIP bash at Boutique, where they rubbed shoulders with Formula One drivers. The private party wound up at 6.30am, long after the club had closed to the public. Gibson and Roberts met at last year's Spring Racing Carnival. American-based Roberts, who missed a scheduled photo shoot in Sydney Monday, spoke affectionately of her Grand Prix visit on Twitter. "I'm feeling the love from down unda. Wow that sounds crazy! Ha. But in all seriousness I love u oz," she wrote.

Ashley on the Gold Coast to host a party

Ashley will make a rare public appearance on the Gold Coast over Easter. The singer and wannabe actor has been in Sydney a couple of times since late last year and will join Frankie Delgado of MTV's show "The Hills" at Sincity on Easter Sunday. The pair will host the exclusive VIP party and meet and mingle with partygoers. It'll be one of the first times Roberts has been seen in public since she and Kimberly Wyatt quit the Pussycat Dolls on March 3. While in Australia, Roberts has been taking acting classes and is looking for a song to produce so she can launch a solo career. Ryan Hunter, of Sincity, said Roberts and Delgado were the first in a long list of stars the club planned to bring to the Coast. "We have a few more up our sleeve who will make guest appearances, but we can't tell you too much more just yet," he said.

I am in the works of finding a song to release. Its all still in the works and I will say more as it unfolds.
I am in acting class with an amazing teacher and loooving it. Projects will be coming and once again as it all unfolds I will keep everyone updated.

"We photographed the absolutely stunning Ashley Roberts as she walked her dog Cooper along the Venice beaches in the California springtime. The Pussy Cat Doll Cutie recently dropped the bombshell that she would be leaving the group, following the announcement that creator Robin Antin was looking for fresh new faces. Ashley made the announcement on her Web site in a letter to her fans at the beginning of this month, leaving Nicole Scherzinger and Melody Thornton as the only remaining members. She wrote, “Yes, I have left the Pussycat Dolls. I love you all sooo much!!! I am so grateful to have the love and support of all of you. It was an amazing ride, and I learned so much! You all mean the world to me and I’m excited to take you all on a new adventure. An adventure full of creativity, inspiration, learning, growing and lots of fun.”
